Early Life and Background

Shah Rukh Khan was born in New Delhi into a middle-class Muslim family. His father, Mir Taj Mohammed Khan, was associated with India’s independence movement, and his mother, Lateef Fatima, came from Hyderabad. He grew up in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi.[1]

Khan attended St. Columba’s School in Delhi, where he actively participated in sports and theatre. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. He also studied Mass Communication at Jamia Millia Islamia but left before completing the course to pursue acting.[2]

During his college years, he trained in theatre under Barry John at Theatre Action Group, which shaped his early acting skills.
