Kriti Sanon (born 27 July 1990) is an Indian actress, model, and producer known for her work in Hindi films. She has received numerous awards, including a National Film Award and two Filmfare Awards. Apart from acting, she is an entrepreneur with her own ventures such as Blue Butterfly Films, Hyphen, Ms. Taken, and The Tribe.

Early Life and Education

Kriti Sanon was born in New Delhi to Geeta Sanon, a physics professor, and Rahul Sanon, a chartered accountant. She hails from a Punjabi Hindu family. Kriti completed her schooling at Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram and went on to earn a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida.[2]

Before entering the film industry, she briefly pursued modeling, appearing in television and print advertisements for major Indian brands.[3]

Early Career (2014–2020)

Kriti made her acting debut with the Telugu psychological thriller 1: Nenokkadine (2014), starring opposite Mahesh Babu. The same year, she made her Hindi film debut with Heropanti, alongside Tiger Shroff, earning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

She gained recognition with her roles in commercially successful films such as Dilwale (2015), Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), and Luka Chuppi (2019). These projects established her as a talented and bankable actress in Bollywood.

Breakthrough and Critical Success (2021–2023)

Kriti’s portrayal of a surrogate mother in Mimi (2021) marked a turning point in her career. Her emotionally charged performance earned her both the National Film Award for Best Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
