Kiku Sharda (born Raghavendra Amarnath Sharda; 14 February 1976) is an Indian comedian and television actor. He is widely recognised for his portrayal of Constable Mulayam Singh Gulgule in the television series F.I.R. and for playing multiple comic characters in Comedy Nights with Kapil, The Kapil Sharma Show, and The Great Indian Kapil Show.[1]

Over a career spanning more than two decades, Sharda has established himself as one of the most prominent comic performers in Indian television, known for character comedy, improvisation, and ensemble performances.

Early life

Kiku Sharda was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, into a traditional business family. He is one of four brothers. Despite having no family background in the entertainment industry, he developed an interest in acting and comedy at an early age.[2]

Career

Television

Sharda began his television career in the early 2000s, initially appearing in supporting roles. His breakthrough came in 2006 with the comedy series F.I.R., where he portrayed Constable Mulayam Singh Gulgule. The character became widely popular and remains one of his most recognised roles.

In 2013, he joined Comedy Nights with Kapil, where he gained national popularity for characters such as Palak, Bumper, and various parody roles. His association with the show marked a major turning point in his career.

Following the transition of the comedy team to Sony Entertainment Television, Sharda became a regular cast member of The Kapil Sharma Show from 2016. He continued to perform multiple characters, contributing to the show’s long-running success.[3]

In 2024, he appeared in The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix, reuniting with Kapil Sharma and reaching a global streaming audience.

Reality television

Sharda has participated in several reality shows. In 2013, he appeared alongside his wife in Nach Baliye 6, finishing fifth. In 2014, he participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7, performing in character-based dance routines.

In 2025, he appeared as a contestant on the reality competition series Rise and Fall on MX Player.[4]

Films

Although primarily known for television, Sharda has acted in numerous Hindi films, mostly in supporting and comic roles. His film appearances include Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Dhamaal (2007), Race (2008), Happy New Year (2014), Jawaani Jaaneman (2020), Angrezi Medium (2020), Thank God (2022), and Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan (2023).[5]

He is also part of the upcoming film Welcome To The Jungle (2025) and appeared in Loveyapa (2025).

Controversy

In 2016, Sharda was briefly arrested following a comedy sketch in which he impersonated self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The incident attracted public attention and criticism, but Sharda later resumed his television career without long-term professional impact.
