Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (born 1 November 1973) is an Indian actress and former beauty pageant winner who is widely regarded as one of the most popular and influential celebrities in India. She won the Miss World 1994 pageant and later established a successful career in Hindi and Tamil cinema.

Aishwarya Rai was born in Mangalore, Karnataka into a Tulu-speaking family.[1]
