Triptii Dimri (born 23 February 1994) is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films. She gained recognition for her performances in Bulbbul (2020) and Qala (2022), and rose to wider popularity with Animal (2023).[1]
Early life
Triptii Dimri was born in New Delhi into a Garhwali family. Her parents are Meenakshi and Dinesh Dimri. Her family belongs to Chamoli, Uttarakhand.
She completed her schooling from Delhi Public School in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. She later studied psychology at Sri Aurobindo College and trained in acting at the Film and Television Institute of India.[2]
Career
Early work and recognition (2017–2022)
Triptii Dimri began her career with a small role in Mom (2017). She then appeared in Poster Boys (2017), where she played a supporting role.[3]
In 2018, she got her first lead role in the romantic drama Laila Majnu opposite Avinash Tiwary. Though the film did not perform well at the box office, her performance received critical appreciation and later gained cult status.
She achieved her breakthrough with the supernatural drama Bulbbul (2020), produced by Anushka Sharma. Her performance was widely praised and earned her the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actress.
In 2022, she starred in Qala, where she played an aspiring singer struggling in the music industry. The film received critical acclaim and further established her as a strong performer.
Commercial breakthrough (2023–present)
In 2023, Dimri appeared in a supporting role in the blockbuster film Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor. The film brought her mainstream popularity and earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.[4]
In 2024, she starred in multiple films including Bad Newz, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. While some of these films performed well commercially, her performances received mixed responses.
In 2025, she appeared in Dhadak 2, where she played the role of Vidhi, a young woman involved in an inter-caste relationship. Her performance was appreciated by critics.
She later starred in the romantic action film O'Romeo (2026). She is also set to appear in upcoming projects such as Spirit and Maa Behen.
