Rohit Saraf (born 8 December 1996) is an Indian actor who works mainly in Hindi films and television. He started his career with television and made his film debut with Dear Zindagi (2016). He is best known for his roles in Hichki (2018), The Sky Is Pink (2019), Ludo (2020), Ishq Vishk Rebound (2024), and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (2025).[1]

He gained wide recognition for playing Rishi in the Netflix romantic drama series Mismatched (2020–2024). In 2025, he was featured in the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list.

Early Life

Rohit Saraf was born in Kathmandu, Nepal, into a Marwari-Nepali family. He later moved to Delhi, where he was raised.[2]

His father, Suresh Saraf, passed away when Rohit was 12 years old. At the age of 15, he moved alone to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. He completed his education up to the 10th standard before focusing fully on acting.[3]

Career

Early Career and Film Debut (2012–2017)

Rohit Saraf began his career with television shows such as Best Friends Forever? and Ek Boond Ishq. He later appeared in the show MTV Big F.

He made his film debut with a supporting role in Dear Zindagi (2016). He also appeared in the Norwegian film What Will People Say (2017), which was selected as Norway's entry for the Academy Awards.[4]

Breakthrough and Recognition (2018–2022)

In 2018, Saraf appeared in Hichki, starring Rani Mukerji. He gained further recognition with The Sky Is Pink (2019), where he acted alongside Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim.

In 2020, he was part of the ensemble cast of Ludo. In the same year, he began starring in the Netflix series Mismatched, which brought him widespread popularity among young audiences.

He also appeared in the Tamil film Kamali From Nadukkaveri (2021) and played a supporting role in Vikram Vedha (2022).

Recent Work (2023–present)

In 2024, Rohit Saraf played his first leading role in a Hindi film with Ishq Vishk Rebound. In 2025, he appeared in the Tamil film Thug Life and starred in the romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

He is also set to appear in the upcoming series The Revolutionaries.
