Ranveer Singh Bhavnani (born 6 July 1985) is an Indian actor who works mainly in Hindi films. He is known for his versatility across genres and has received several awards, including multiple Filmfare Awards. He is considered one of the leading actors in contemporary Bollywood cinema.[1]

Early Life and Background

Ranveer Singh was born on 6 July 1985 in Mumbai into a Sindhi family. His parents are Anju and Jagjit Singh Bhavnani. He has an elder sister, Ritika Bhavnani. His family originally migrated from Karachi during the Partition of India.

He studied at H.R. College in Mumbai before moving to the United States, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Indiana University Bloomington. During college, he developed an interest in acting and theatre.[2]

After returning to India, he worked briefly in advertising as a copywriter and also assisted in film direction before pursuing acting full-time.
