Mrunal Thakur (born 1 August 1992) is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi and Telugu films. She began her career in television before transitioning into films, where she gained recognition for her performances in both commercial and critically acclaimed projects. She is a recipient of several awards including a Filmfare Award South, Filmfare OTT Award, SIIMA Awards, and an Indian Television Academy Award.[1]

Early Life and Education

Mrunal Thakur was born in Dhule, Maharashtra, into a Marathi-speaking family. She completed her schooling at St. Joseph's Convent School, Jalgaon, and later attended Vasant Vihar High School near Mumbai.

She enrolled at KC College in Mumbai but left before completing her graduation to pursue a full-time acting career in television.[2]

Television Career (2012–2016)

Mrunal began her acting journey with the television series Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan (2012–2013), where she played the lead role.

She gained wider recognition with Kumkum Bhagya (2014–2016), where she portrayed Bulbul Arora. Her performance earned her the Indian Television Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

She also appeared in reality shows such as Nach Baliye 7 and Box Cricket League.[3]

Entry into Films (2014–2021)

Mrunal made her film debut in Marathi cinema with Hello Nandan (2014), followed by Vitti Dandu and Surajya.

Her breakthrough in Hindi cinema came with Love Sonia (2018), where she played the lead role in a film addressing human trafficking. Although critically appreciated, the film had limited commercial success.

In 2019, she gained mainstream recognition with:
